Anthony Padgett - The Preston Polka
To provide a dance for people who are isolated in lockdown, Anthony Padgett has created the Preston Polka. Not only is it a Polka, but also perhaps the worlds first formal dance with a coat-hanger!
Anthony Padgett is a painter, sculptor, writer and dance teacher. His dance school Jazz Swing Dance has been running vintage dance classes in Preston for the last 10 years.
Anthony says:
"If it puts a smile on peoples faces, or if for just a couple of minutes people who are lonely, or without a partner to dance with feel a sense of connection then it has been a worthwhile project".
